When a woman has a baby, the expectation is that she should be overjoyed and happy, but this is a time of heightened anxiety and stress and many women feel very emotional and tearful.
Postnatal depression is very common, and many women feel isolated and lonely and suffer in silence, struggling along alone because their problem is either not recognised, or there is no support available to help her.
